What Is Red Light Therapy?

Red light therapy is the use of light in the red to infrared wavelengths as a medical instrument to treat or, better, heal a wide variety of ailments. Red light therapy may be better known to you under other names, such as photostimulation, “biostimulation (BIOS),” or “light box therapy.” While yet another familiar name for red light therapy is “low level laser therapy” (LLLT), it is generally distinguished from “true” laser therapy, which uses very highly focused light as a cutting tool.

Rather, in red light therapy, the light is being absorbed into the body’s tissues. This is a healing mechanism less obvious than than the cutting effect of laser, and, accordingly, it is still somewhat less well-accepted by conventional medicine. Red light therapy is sometimes consigned by doctors to a category somewhere between “alternative therapy” and “magic.” This is an unduly harsh judgment, since we know that even mere sunlight has a variety of effects upon everything from Vitamin D production to skin tanning to mood enhancement. Light has real power, and not just when it is so focused that it acts as a knife.

Besides, there is now sound clinical proof, accepted by the FDA, that red light therapy has demonstrable effects upon the human immune and endocrine systems. Today, it is used to treat an increasing number of conditions.

Using a device such as an “Omnilux Red,” a doctor will address wrinkles and other signs of skin aging. Results do take several treatments at $50–$200 apiece. The treatments are thought to stimulate the growth of collagen, which would necessarily help smooth wrinkled skin.

Red light therapy has several effects that, in combination, work to even skin tone and color, and to regulate blood flow to skin tissue. As with several other treatments, observation of the effects of red light therapy have somewhat outpaced our understanding of the precise mechanisms behind those effects.

The red light wavelength is believed to cause oil glands in the skin to attack cytokines, an inflammation-promoting substance thought to make skin develop chronic acne as a defense mechanism. That’s one defense mechanism you don’t need.

Red light wavelengths have several pain reducing devices, such as stimulating blood circulation, combating inflammation, and relaxing muscles. Unlike other wavelengths, both red and infrared light penetrate outer dermal layers for a much deeper healing. Treatment also appears to make the immune system healthier generally, and to regulate both lymphatic activity and serotonin levels. Thus, pain is attacked from several “directions” at once.

Neurological Damage

When combined with alternating treatments of near-infrared light, red light therapy has been seen to actually regenerate damaged nerves and, remarkably, even to regrow severed spinal cords. Accordingly, red light therapy holds great promise for the treatment of stroke and heart attack patients.

Hair Loss

At wavelengths between 630 and 670 nanometers, red light therapy is effective at blocking and even reversing hair loss, as it stimulates hair follicles as well as ordinary cells. Different wavelengths are effective in the treatment of different ailments, with the rule of thumb being: the higher the wavelength, the deeper and more penetrative the effect.

How Does It Work?

Red light wavelengths increase energy levels wherever they are applied topically. They do this by stimulating the release of Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) from mitochondria found in cells. ATP is sometimes referred to as the “currency” cells use to exchange energy. The association between red light and energy is so profound that simply seeing the color red is stimulative on what we typically assume to be a strictly psychological level – but much more than the strictly psychological is in play when we feel the effects of red light wavelength. We are in fact being stimulated from our tiniest cells on up.

There is still much we don’t yet know. For instance, we’ve seen that red light’s growth-stimulating properties include the ability to promote that growth of new capillaries. To some, this suggests possible applications for ailments such as weakened eyesight, even erectile dysfunction. The testing for these problems, however, still lags. But given what we know already, it was only a matter of time before medicine began to harness this fundamental cosmic power.

Belt Sanders: Benefits and Purchasing Tips

Benefits of a Belt Sander

With its great power and ability to handle extra coarse grits, the belt sander is an awesome multi-use tool and the perfect sander for quick wood removal. One unique feature of the belt sander is that it sands in a linear motion unlike the orbital sander and the vibrating sander. This ability allows you to sand with the grain and still get excellent smooth results. As a result, it is a fantastic sander for trimming a scribed line, shaping and rounding edges by freehand, and leveling large surfaces.

Buying a Sander and Belts

The best belt sander usually comes in a 3-inch belt width. You may see wider or narrower belts on the market, but they are intended for specific jobs. In the 3-inch width belt class, the usual sizes come in 3×18-inches, 3×21-inches, and 3×24-inches belts. The 3×18-inches sanders are more lightweight and can be effortlessly held with one hand. It is perfect for freehand shaping and scribing as they are smaller and easier to control. The 3×21-inches and 3×24-inches sanders are heavier and bigger. They are better for larger surface projects and heavy duty usage. And obviously, the size difference is proportional to the price of the sander. 3×18-inch sanders tend to cost around $50 to $150; whereas 3×21-inch sanders tend to be slightly more expensive and range around $100 to $250.
If your projects require finer control, you may look into the 2-1/2-inch wide belt sanders. But unless you are working on cabinetmaking or extra-large surface projects, you should stay clear from the heavy-duty 4-inch wide belts as they are much heavier and require much more experience to handle the powerful tool. As much as they can finish a job quickly, they can do equal damage in the same speed if you do not handle the sander properly.
When it comes to picking the right belt, 80-grit and 120-grit are the usual choices for belt sanders. As the belt sanders are so powerful, coarser belts such as the 50-grits can quickly create deep scratches and nasty gouges that are difficult, if not impossible, to eliminate. Contrary, if you want finer grit belts, instead of using the belt sander, it may be more beneficial to switch to a random-orbit sander for the task instead.
As for the grit material, you can choose from aluminum oxide and zirconia belts. Aluminum oxide is the standard grit material. It comes in two different qualities depending on your needs. If you want disposable belts, go for the cheaper khaki-color aluminum oxide belts. And if you want longer-lasting belts, opt for the dark brown premium belts that are more expensive. If you want even stronger, coarser grit belts that are even more durable, the zirconia belts are your best choice. As they are made of tougher, sharper cutting particles that won’t clog as easily. On the market, these belts usually come in bright blue or purple color, and are slightly more expensive than the premium aluminum oxide belts.

Start a business with 3D Printing

The 3D printing industry has been developing at a berserk pace in the course of the most recent couple of years as diverse commercial ventures proceed to industrially receive the innovation. As per Wohlers Associates, the 3D printing business grew 28.6 percent in 2012 and by 2017, offers of 3D printing services and items worldwide could reach $6 billion. You can likewise give beginning aides and client’s aides alongside the product. Keep in mind that Amazon additionally has opened a 3D supplies segment subsequent to assessing the popularity for 3D printing supplies. Along these lines, the activity benefits bode well.

Liquid Cooling Solutions

Innovation has propelled in the course of recent decades and we have seen some incredible things made possible by innovation. The CPU processing scene is one such area. However, with the better clock speeds, the frameworks have a tendency to produce a high measure of heat, which can be harming to the framework and cause long term issues with the PC. Not unlike the led light bars described at ledlightbar.reviews, your PC generates a lot of heat. If you are experiencing issues with overheating, then it is recommended to go for liquid PC cooling system, keeping in mind the end goal is to ensure that no harm is done to your PC.

How does liquid cooling help?

The fans that are supplied with your CPU are fit to handle the heat created up to a certain level. However, once the limit is crossed, the heat can’t be appropriately scattered by the fans and you require some other outside cooling answer for keep your PC from being harmed.

Cooling with the assistance of liquid is a recommended system in light of the fact that water and other fluid coolants have higher warmth limits and can easily support heat exchange between the PC parts and themselves. These frameworks work simply like the radiator of an auto and the water works as a heat sink for your PC. The water is cycled through the parts of the PC by a system of channels and pumps and it takes in all the heat inside itself and turns out.

How to discover great and dependable liquid PC cooling systems?

The PC water cooling systems can be assembled at home. However, there are numerous manufacturers that produce these systems and their units re more dependable than the ones assembled at home. The units come in different shapes and sizes and are perfectly customized for a specific model of motherboard. You must have the information about the make and model of your motherboard before you set out to purchase a cooling system for your PC.

To find a dependable cooling system you have to read about the manufacturers and the reviews of their products. Search for rebates and verify that the merchant guarantees that the cooling system is fit for your motherboard.

Thus, discovering the best PC cooling frameworks is absolutely subject to the information that you have in regards to your motherboard. Along these lines, verify that you have enough data in regards to the motherboard before you go to purchase a cooling mechanical assembly.

How to Fix Your PC Problems without Taking it to a Technician

Computer problems cause frustrations and delays in deadlines, and a host of other issues. So how do you fix your PC problems? Rush it to the technician every time it acts up? This can run into serious money. Some computer technicians charge over $100 just for a basic repair job. So what is the alternative? Do it yourself!

Here are 6 ideas you can follow to fix your own computer and avoid the high repair costs:

1. Troubleshoot software issues first.

Remove the last program you installed to see if that solves the problem. Statistically, most computers problems are related to software, not hardware. And while hardware problems and device conflicts can occur, it is more common for the culprit to be software-related. So one thing to do is to think about the last software that was installed before the symptoms began and remove it to see if this solves the problem. It could be that the software conflicts with some of your other software already on your computer or it may be trying to share files that are causing problems with your system. Whatever the case, the only way to know if it is a software issue is caused by another software is to remove it. Then reboot and test your system to see if it improves.

2. Check for unplugged hardware or connection problems.

If the software test doesn’t solve the issues . Sometimes your computer gets bumped or a cord gets knocked out of a port. Something this simple can cause your computer to malfunction. Remember that everything is plugged into the motherboard. So if anything is knocked loose, it is not making the connections it needs to function correctly. In these cases, finding the loose cord or USB connection will solve the problem without any need to take it to a technician.

3. Go through Windows trouble-shooting process.

Windows has a number of pre-installed tools that may help you find the problem. Simply go to the CONTROL PANEL and DEVICE MANAGER to check for hardware conflicts and run the Windows tests located under TROUBLESHOOTING that can be found FIND AND FIX PROBLEMS under system security. Keep in mind when you run Windows tests, however, that Windows will sometimes produce false error messages. It does this because it is programmed to always look for the most logical solution to the problems it finds. So you should always temper this with common sense and use your own logic in determining what might be wrong.

4. Check for hardware conflicts.

Using the Windows troubleshooting may also help with finding hardware conflicts. But the best way to tell is to go to DEVICE MANAGER and see if you find any warning messages beside your various hardware devices. Sometimes this is caused by a driver issue. Try to update your software associated with the device when possible or try removing the device then rebooting. If the device is still on your computer, Windows will find it and install it again. Sometimes just reinstalling a device or associated drivers or software may be enough to solve the problem.

5. Clean up the mess (defrag, and system tools).

I cannot stress this point enough. If you use your computer regularly, it is going to gather junk, misplace files, and get a lot of things out of place. So run your system tools as often as possible to clean up the mess. When this isn’t enough to solve the problem, follow #7.

6. Invest in an extra registry cleaner program such as Norton’s Utilities.

Oftentimes, it’s not enough to just run Windows tools or system utilities. When you need something to really deep clean your registry (and MOST computer problems are either software or registry-related), try a stronger tool like Norton Utilities. Norton Utilities (by Symantec) is designed to find all of he problems in Windows as well as potential hardware and software conflicts. So it covers a lot of issues. You can download the trial for 30 days from Symantec’s main site then registration is $29.99 for 3 computers.

These 6 things should arm you with a lot of power when your system decides to act like a spoiled child and make your life miserable. But sometimes problems are just too much to handle on your own. If these 7 tests don’t work, look for a reliable computer technician in your area. It’s better to spend a little money now fixing a small problem then a LOT of money later fixing a big one.

Six Benefits of Using Open Source Storage Systems for Businesses

Modern companies need to process a significant amount of digital information and even a small business needs to store terabytes of data. Eventually, the availability of an enterprise storage system becomes a necessity. Many companies choose commercial, proprietary solutions, but open source technology is mature enough to become the backbone of our enterprise storage system. Here are benefits of using open source solutions for our storage requirements:

1. Highly customizable

The market is simply crowded with so many enterprise solutions and we don’t always find one that fits our needs. It is important to find ideal solutions and settle for that. When starting an open source solution, we need to start from scratch. There are many pieces and details that we need to assemble together. This allows us to make something unique that could match our company better than those commercial, ready-to-use solutions. When it is done, we could be sure that those solutions will serve us well. There are open source alternatives that we could use for enterprise needs, such as SUSE. It is a Linux-based distro with widespread community and support. It also includes some of the most comprehensive solutions for enterprise storage. We could also use other open source technologies, such as Samba that glues our system together. With Samba, we are able to bridge the gap between many storage devices, servers and desktops in our office. In fact, open source solutions can make our lives infinitely easier. We may handle massive storage with open source solutions and we could choose NoSQL. It allows us to create scalable clusters and we could add more machines. With NoSQL database technology, we should be able to create a reliable enterprise computing solution with efficient architecture, object-oriented programming and structured data. As an alternative, we may use comprehensive Linux solutions. Turnkey Linux include all features needed by modern companies. As a storage-centric solution, Turnkey Linux is consisted of File Server, MongoDB and ownCloud. It is easy to create a customizable and ideal storage solutions based on our requirements.

2. Good integration with cloud-based technology

Linux simply rules the cloud and we can’t speak of the online realm without mentioning the likes of Ubuntu, SUSE and Red Hat. In this case, it is a good idea to free ourselves from cloud providers, such as Google, although they claim that they are using open source solution. With Openstack and OwnCloud, it is possible to create our own in-house, open source solutions for enterprise usages.

3. Lower costs

When we are planning to go open source, we should make sure that we are able to save money, because these solutions are supposedly free. Overall, with good implementation, we should be able to ensure lower upkeep and cost of entry. It obviously takes some money to set up a system, although it is based on open source technology. However, once our system is finally up and running, it is not necessary to pay for any 3rd party support. Because we build our own enterprise solutions, we know them better than anyone else on the planet. With free software and in-house support, it is very likely that we will keep the overall costs down.

4. Scalable solutions

Many open source solutions for enterprise usages are completely scalable. If we need more space and performance, it is possible to throw additional hardware units into the mix. Standard storage units based on hard drives are essentially affordable and it is possible to create a massive storage system with much lower costs compared to typical proprietary solutions. The addition of new hardware can be essentially non-disruptive and our business operations should continue smoothly without a hitch.

5. Better flexibility

Storage system is essential for our business and we should be allowed to deploy it based on our current situations. Open source solutions provide us with flexibility. As an example, we could get specific features up and running, while disabling a few others. Codes can be altered to fit our requirements and then redeployed.

6. Improved agility

Compared to proprietary solutions, open source technology is more agile. Developments in open source industry happen quickly and companies that require rapid deployment and development should turn to open source technology. Projects like Hadoop and OpenStack offer a lot of promises for companies and they evolve at blinding speeds.
Overall, many companies are already dependent on open source solutions. If we are using an outdated proprietary solution, it is a good idea to migrate to better, open-source solutions. Within the cost-effective and flexible community of developers and users, companies will find a reliable and effective solution.

BIOS change announcement

A new BIOS structure has been created for PCChips motherboards that will be able to support auto-detection of LAN and IEEE 1394 features. Under the new structure, one BIOS file will support all models in a series, e.g. M930U, M930LU, M930FLU.
However, on some series’ boards with early BIOS date codes, an error message will appear saying ” Error 9 – The BIOS tag is incorrect.” This message will appear if trying to flash the BIOS on the following series boards with BIOS date codes earlier than the dates stated below:

M830/M831 series with chipset SiS735 Issue date: 1st October 2002
M920/M921/M922/M925/M927 series with south bridge VT8233/VT8235 Issue date: 2nd July 2002
